What About the Children Program (W.A.T.C)

For over 10 years, W.A.T.C. has been helping families transition through the separation and divorce process more effectively, with minimal trauma to the children. Successful transition depends on the parents and their ability and willingness to co-parent in a positive way.

The classes teach these families how to communicate and make this transition successfully. To date, approximately 1,200 parents and children experiencing separation and divorce have taken the class in Monterey County. Many of these participants go on to receive individual and family therapy to help further their positive emotional growth related to separation and divorce. In January 2005, Harmony at Home assumed the coordination and operations of W.A.T.C.

This program consists of four 1 1/2 hour sessions.  Parents will be placed in concurrent but separate classes, while children will be placed in groups according to their ages.

In 2008, classes will be held in Monterey on Thursdays from 6:30-8:00pm in February/March, June and October.

Salinas classes will be held on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00pm in April, and August.  Please call to request a registration form and the addresses where sessions will be held.  (831) 625-5160.
