Harmony At Home Needs Your Help
Harmony At Home's goal is to receive 50% of our funding from private donations. Support from the private sector will empower us to expand our programs that lead to "Ending Violence and Building Families."
This is what Harmony At Home is about, because children function better when there is harmony at home.
What we have accomplished so far:
Over 5,000 children have received counseling under the Sticks & Stones® program.
- Over 1,200 parents and children have taken the "What About The Children" classes
Through our Adopt-A-School program and local foundations, we are providing 11 schools in the Alisal Union School District with Sticks & Stones®. Harmony At Home has secured the funds for the services to this District for over 3 years. Due to changes in the economy we need your help more than ever if we are to continue in these schools. According to our reports for the end of a 10-week counseling program, 84% of the children completing the program are functioning in healthier ways. Graduates from our program learn valuable communication skills that make a difference in the life of families and children:
- Teachers and Principals report that their student's self-esteem has improved, which translates into academic success.
- Children are demonstrating healthy and non-violent conflict-resolution skills with peers.
- Family functioning improves as a result of the support the children and family has received.
93% of every dollar you donate goes directly to Harmony At Home programs. The remainder covers our administrative costs.
Every donation makes an impact:
Sticks & Stones®
- $13.50 - provides one Sticks & Stones® group counseling session for a child
- $50 - provides one Sticks & Stones® group counseling session for four children
- $135 - provides a complete 10-week Sticks and Stones® program group counseling for one child
What About The Children?
- $350 - Support a family through separation or divorce; classes for parents and children that help them with communication and the changes they are going through as a family.
Teen Enrichment Summer Camp
- $500 - Sponsor a teenage girl for summer camp in Big Sur (a collaboration between Harmony At Home and The Big Sur Land Trust)
